Residents of Ire Street Benin City are yet to come to terms with the invaded of house number 29, Ire Street, Benin City by armed hoodlums on June 15, 2023 and destroyed property in sight and vandalized windows, including ceiling and doors.
The attack which has left tongues wagging with many unsure of the motive behind the act of violence, eye witnesses said may not be unconnected with a recent squable involving some street urchins and Isoken Haddijatu Salami.
The invaders numbering over 10 were said to have armed themselves with dangerous weapons including axes, cutlasses, clubs and daggers and ransacked the house in search of Isoken who at that time had stepped out of the house.
They were said to have demanded to see Isoken, the object of the invasion but later resorted to destroying anything in sight when their target became elusive.
The hoodlums it was learned dropped a threat note that indicated their plot to kill Isoken.
Meanwhile, the Edo State Police Command has begun investigation into the matter to unravel the culprits.
The police has however advised Lady Isoken to be wary of her environment while investigations continue.
