Appeal court discharged and acquitted ex Adamawa Gov
An appeal court seating in Yola has today discharged and acquitted former Governor of Adamawa State, Barr Bala James Ngilari, over wrongful Procurement of vehicles meant for State use.
While reading the two hour judgment, Justice O. F. Omoleye based her verdict on a five count charges used in convicting the appellant (Bala) by the Adamawa State High court presided by Justice Nathan Musa.
According her Bala is not a procurement officer and the lower court did not give him a Fair hearing and therefore is ”discharged and acquitted.”
The former governor in his response told journalist that his thanks is unlimited to God,saying that in everything he should give thanks to God who knows his life from the beginning to the end
”I thank God for all things, he has proven that his a God who knows all things.” He said
Counsel to Bala, Barr Obed Wadzani thanked the presiding judge attesting that she rekindle hope the Nigerian masses by upholding the rule of law in the Nigerian constitution.
”My client has been vindicated over the crime he knows nothing about, thanks to all Nigerians who prayerfully stood by us to the very end. It’s now over.” He Said
Recall that 3rd March,2017 a High Court in Yola presided by Justice Nathan Musa convicted former Governor Bala of breaking the law guiding the Bureau of Public procurement.
