APC urged to go back to the drawing board

The APC led government of President Muhammadu Buhari has been urged to go back to the drawing board and finetune policies on economic development.
The Adamawa state chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Abdulrahaman Bobboi, who made the position of the party known at a press conference in Yola on Wednesday reiterated that a powerful economic team is urgently needed to tackle the ongoing recession biting Nigerians.
Bobboi also stated that the two years of democracy under the present Governor Muhammad Umaru Jibrilla Bindow lacked focus.
“Road construction by the state government are taking place in state capital and four councils out 21 while neglecting 16 which also have right to the resources of the state, ” Bobboi stated.
The party Chairman, who however commended the road construction and rehabilitation project in the state, was quick to point out that the government concentrated the projects in the state capital and four local government areas out the 21 councils whose resources are used for the much talk about roads in the state .
“We have 21 local government councils in the state but we discover that most of the roads constructed are concentrated within the state capital and four other local government, the project is not evenly spread across the state, ” he observed.
Bobboi challenged the APC led government to, as a matter of urgency, redefine the priorities of government so as to have direct impact on the electorate.
“Governor Bindow needs to include all stakeholders in the administration of the state for good governance and equality,” Bobboi added.
On the declaration of state of emergency on education by the state government, the party chairman said the government is performing below average lamenting that salaries of teachers have remained unpaid for four months while the infrastructures are dilapidated across the state.
He opined that good governance is about ensuring transparency and accountability so that the electorate will be taken along in the scheme of governance.
