Tom Okpe, Abuja
The All Progressives Congress (APC) national Secretariat in Abuja has been burgled in the early hours of Monday in Abuja and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command of the Nigeria Police have arrested the suspected criminals. Commissioner of Police (FCT) Command, Bala Ciroma, who confirmed this to journalists on Monday said, “Arrest has been made and investigation is going on”. Suspected robbers early Monday morning sneaked into APC National Secretariat at Blantyre Street, Wuse II, Abuja and attempted to cart away two air conditioners before they were caught by security men on duty at the secretariat. The hoodlum who gained entrance into the premises after destroying the security wire round the fence was said to have cart away two splitting air conditioners at about 2.30 am. One of the Police personnel on duty during the incident told journalists that he heard some noise and he decided to check through the back of the building and on getting there shouted, then he answered from the main building not knowing the person he was seeing kneeling down was one of the robbers. “I moved closer and grabbed him from the back. The robbers had already removed one of the air conditioners and placed it on top of the fence for easy transfer to their waiting vehicle while the second one was nearly done with before they were nabbed. “Another was arrested across the fence after others had already taken to their heels. There is a clear evidence of the attackers cutting the security wires to secure entrance for their raid”. The two arrested suspected culprits at the time of this report are currently in Wuse ll Police Station undergoing interrogation.
