Hon Apugo urged PDP National Assembly Legislatures not to be carried away by the latest development but to strive hard to ensure PDP bounces back at the centre come May 2019.
Also speaking, PDP stakeholder in the state and Traditional Prime Minister of Ibeku Ancient Kingdom, Chief Uche Akwukwuegbu, noted that the drama at the National Assembly was a welcome development for democracy in Nigeria.
He stated that politics is not a winner takes all, while maintaining that the ruling APC at present would contend with strong opposition just as he observed that the leadership of APC has to be ready to face the challenges.
Popularly known by his business name, “BAWAS”, High Chief Akwyukwuegbu enjoined PDP National Assembly members not to take the new decamped members for granted but should reach memorandum of understanding (MOU) to grant them rightful position in order to achieve their collective goals come next year’s general election.
Bawas also advised APC members to organise their house and prepare for the remaining days in office.
Also speaking on a two-day public holiday approved by Abia government to enable civil servants obtain their permanent voter card (PVC), the PDP Chieftain noted it as being significant for Abia workers to get their voter cards before August 15th date-line.
He commended Abia State Governor Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu for approving the two-day-work-free for workers, stating that it will enable the people of Abia State to vote massively and elect their leaders during election apart from other numerous benefits the stands to gain in the state with PVC.
The oil and construction guru also used the opportunity to advise the state government to make the PVC a pre-requisite in any business or official dealings in the state.
