Anambra election : U. S Consul General preaches credibility

The United States Consul General to Nigeria, His Excellency, John Bray has assured that his country will partner key stakeholders in the state to ensure a credible poll during the November 18th governorship election in Anambra State.

Mr Bray disclosed this when his team paid a courtesy visit to the state governor, at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia.

Bray noted that the essence of the visit to the state was to have a critical study on the level of preparedness towards the November 18 election.

According to him “We are here for proper reconnaissance ahead of November 18 gubernatorial election in the state. It is something we do in every state in all circle elections to ensure a free, fair and credible election during the process.”

We will be participating with national observers’ communities and will be working closely with INEC, political parties, civil society and security services to ensure there is credible process…..”. Bray added.

While stating that Anambra and the rest of Nigeria was pulling out of recession, Mr Bray observed that the present administration of Obiano had transformed the state and attracted night life and other government presence in the state.

Welcoming the delegation, the State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano assured of credibility and free election come November 18th election.

Obiano urged other political parties to eschew any form of violence and embrace fairness in the election.
