Amnesty Programme: Ndokwa youths deny rift over list of beneficiaries

Following the inclusion of Ndokwa ethnic nationality in Delta State in the Federal Government’s Amnesty programme, beneficiaries under the aegis o Ndokwa Ethnic Nationality Youths have said there is no division within its ranks.
Spokesman of the group, Barr. Ambrose Egwunatum, speaking in Warri, Delta State after Ndokwa youths were included in the amnesty programme for the first time, said there was no attempt to hijack the newly-established amnesty programme in the area as the public was being made to believe.
He also exonerated Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, Chairman of Senate Committee on Niger Delta from any wrong doing, saying he was shocked to hear that he had interfered in the compilation of beneficiaries whereas leaders from all parts of Ndokwa land were consulted and agreed on the final list.
He described the signals being sent out to the public as the result of greed and divisive attitude of few persons aimed at creating chaos in the amnesty camps which are currently calm and peaceful.
He recalled how he led the Ndokwa Youths to Abuja on October 16, 2016 to appear before an investigative hearing on the Federal Government’s Amnesty Programme which had excluded Ndokwa land.
“I can vividly remember that my L.G.A. party chairman in the person of Mr. David Ochonogor told me that he had asked all the ward chairmen to send in one name each and that he even did the typing in Abuja with the working committee team and that he also got my nominations, and now I am so surprised that the same David Ochonogor is now saying he was not carried along, even when I saw his nominees in the Amnesty training camp as confirmed to me by his nominees.”
“When they also raised alarm that Senator Nwaoboshi had flooded the list with people from his own area, Oshimili and Ika, I visited the training camps personally and discovered the allegation to be false.”
He said youths from the area would also be involved in pipeline surveillance while commending Anioma Youth Council led by Comrade Enudi Markus for concrete arrangements towards its successful take-off.
