AMAC chairman bows to political pressure, recalls sacked workers

Idu Jude, Abuja
As the political realignment blows its wind across the FCT, the chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Alhaji Adamu Candido, has bowed to pressure for the fear of losing the support of numerous supporters of the All Progressive Party (APC) in the FCT for sacking supervisory councilors in his cabinet.
The AMAC Chairman had sacked all the seven politically appointed councilors representing various areas in the AMAC while making effort to engage new appointees.
Days after their sack, pressures from different quarters have forced the AMAC chairman to recall the sacked councilors.
In like manner, the AMAC Chairman is eyeing the only senatorial slot of the FCT. The position which is currently being held by Senator Philip Tenimu Aduda of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is already under threat with the decamping of a member of the House of Representatives, Hon Lukeman Zaphania Jizalo, who recently cross-carpeted from the opposition party to the ruling APC ahead of the 2019 national election.
