Ahmed Musa Debuts as Kano Pillars GM with a 9‑Point Revival Plan

Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa has officially resumed duties as the new General Manager of Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side, Kano Pillars, with a bold declaration to return the club to its glory days.
In a press briefing held at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Musa outlined a detailed nine-point strategy designed to revamp the structure and competitiveness of the club both on and off the pitch. The plan includes seeking strategic sponsorships, enhancing the team’s digital presence, improving players’ welfare, reviving grassroots scouting, and leveraging his international exposure for new partnerships and training opportunities.

“This is a club I deeply love. We are going for the trophy this time around,” Musa told reporters. “There’s no excuse. The goal is to rebuild this team into a championship contender and bring pride back to Kano football fans.”
Musa, who has had an illustrious international career in Europe and the Middle East, said his decision to accept the GM role is driven by a desire to give back to the club where his career began. He also hinted at continuing as a player this season while fulfilling his administrative responsibilities.
Amid recent social media speculation that Musa would be gifting cars to players, he issued a firm denial.
“Please, let’s stop spreading false news. I never promised cars to any players,” he said. “If in doubt, verify with me before sharing.”
The Kano State Government recently reconstituted the club’s management in an effort to turn around its fortunes following a disappointing 9th-place finish last season. Musa’s appointment is already drawing attention and renewed optimism among supporters.
Fans and analysts are now watching closely to see whether Musa’s influence, both in leadership and on the field, can reignite Kano Pillars’ championship ambitions.
