Agent Arraigned for N360, 000  Rent Theft

Taiwo Oluwo, a 51-year-old property agent, has been arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrate Court for stealing N360.000 belonging to one Pastor Praise Judah, after promising to let out a land space to him.

The accused was said to have committed the offence on the December 15, 2014 at 8B, Ejigbo Road, Orisunbare, in Lagos.

Taiwo was arraigned before Magistrate Miss A.O Akinde, on a-two-count charge, which included stealing.

According to the prosecutor, Mr. Chinalu Uwadione, the offence committed was contrary to Section 278 and punishable under 285(1) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria.

Meanwhile, when the charge was read to the accused, he pleaded not guilty.

Akinde, however, granted the accused bail in the sum of N100, 000 with two sureties that has evidence of tax payment and a verifiable address.

The magistrate, adjourned the case till June 11, 2015.
