Adamawa councilors accuse impeached colleagues of threat to LGA

Seven Councilors of Lamurde Local Government Area of Adamawa state in a press statements have appended their signatures accusing Mrs Gloria Istifanus Markson of breeding up malicious and frivolous lies against the Executive Chairman of Lamurde LGA, Mr. Vrati Nzonzo.

According to the Press statement read by the leader of the council chamber, Hon. Bedan Menayi representing Gyawana ward to group of Journalist in Yola said the baseless allegations raised against the Chairman is capable of causing political fracas and disunity in the chamber which at the end will result to lack of peaceful coexistence among the entire people of the LGA.

The councillor said this in an attempt to reply an earlier press briefing Glory granted to Media Men, alleging that her impeachment was headed by the Chairman of Lamurde. But the seven councilors said her impeachment was necessitated after assessing her performances and concluded she can’t earn their trust any longer because of her unruly behaviour hence their decision to past a vote of no confidence on her.

Saying that removing her from the deputy leader of Lamurde legislative council is because of her lack in integrity, honesty and the good will to carry them along.

They further described the behavior of Gloria as a senseless gross misconduct to abuse the hallow chambers of Lamurde LGA, by going to the Press without due consultations, amounted to an act that violates the due process of the hallow chambers.

They condemn the unthinkable sense of Glory’s allegations and exonerated the Chairman of generating over N70m the last 16 months but without putting it to proper use.

According to them if she has that kind of privilege information and failed to table it to the house during plenary she is an unpatriotic councilor and doing a lot of harm than good .They extolled Nzonzo qualities of administration who despite political feuds and riffs off in the area but was able to do quite a lot of good things in resuscitating the LGA.

“Let me on behalf of my Honourable colleagues state here clearly that Lamurde Legislative council is not here to defend the personality of the Executive Chairman, Mr Vrati Nzonzo on the allegations levelled against him by our colleague, but rather we are here to honor and protect the legislative due process of our hallow chamber that has been abused by the actions and utterances of Gloria during her Press briefing.

“Finally, Lamurde legislative council wish to apologize to the Executive Chairman, Hon. Vrati S Nzonzo over the dishonoring conduct of Mrs Gloria Istifanus Markson as one of us who have acted without good thinking and causing embarrassment to the LGA. ” He said

Our investigation further revealed that during the travail days of Hon Nzonzo’s suspension, Glory was having a field day operation,became the defector Chairperson and was in charge of the LGA doing everything possible to make sure Vrati would not return to office.

His returned made her restless and indignant, resented to a fight in order to “gain public sympathy” for much relevancy.

A resident of Ngbenbungo ward and who prefer to be anonymous said the executive Chairman of Lamurde does not deserve this treatment from Mrs Gloria Istifanus.

According to him, he is at the know how Vrati stood by her, brought her councilor elected against all odd, occupy the office of the chairman’s wife yet she went on cooking sorts of negative stories against him that is capable of degenerating into something else in our LGA.
