A quick glance at the stripes and strides collection by Ogbest Tailored

Fashion critics have often given very strict rules for striped fabrics and what they can be used to craft especially when it comes to men’s fashion but OGBest Tailored has just used its latest collection titled “Stripes and Strides” to challenge some of those rules.

The Stripes and Strides collection contains plain and patterned cotton, Crepe and Chiffon and all these are expertly sewn by the creative director, Ogbeiwi Osagie to produce clothing items such as Kaftan, round-neck shirts, shirt dresses, trousers and even shorts for the men who seek to balance their busy schedules with their fun-loving, thrill-seeking sides.

The Kaftans have a unique spin to them in that the have short or long sleeves and can be worn as an extra piece of clothing or as a complete wear with the trousers or shorts. The kaftans are plainly sewn but lined with plain cotton for comfortability and to enhance the build of the clothes on the body of its wearers.

There are full length zips on one of the kaftans with two patch pockets by the sides of the kaftans. The trousers have drawstrings on some and adjustable elastic band on others for options.

There are slanted pockets on the left and right sides with a patch pocket at the left or right side of the back of the trousers, there are cuffed hems at the end of the trousers too so as to make it adjustable for length. There are other shirts and dress shirts which are either buttoned down, V-neck and Round neck.

The shorts are made in similar fashion as the trousers except for the length being the difference.

Osagie’s skills in tailoring and Fabric sourcing were fully evident in this collection as they shewed up in the fabric type.

Chiffons are generally thought to be more acceptable by women yet he was able to find a way to merge chiffon and cotton to give such simple yet profound pieces of design.

It is of little wonder that the collection which was filled of striped-patterned fabrics were tailored in such excellent ways that wearers are not left feeling or looking like court jesters or fashion mishaps. We dare say that every striped piece was well-thought through for the men with strides.

The Stripes and Strides Collection was well-received by fashion critics, enthusiasts and general audiences as well. One can not but celebrate the fact that the collection deserved its name and for something designed to celebrate men and its release which was quite close to International Men’s Day was quite strategic and a worthy nod to all the men out there.
