Serving Kebbi federal lawmaker defects to SDP

The serving member representing Koko/Besse,Maiyama Federal Constituency, Salisu Garba Koko has announced his defection to the Social Democratic Party (SDP) from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kebbi State.

According to him the decision to dump his party was as a result of the party’s inability to restore his stolen mandate during the concluded primaries.

He added that he explored all lawful means to get his mandate restored to him but were frustrated by the powers that be hence his decision to leave the party.

It will be recalled that, Garba claimed that genuine delegates were changed during their primaries which he drew the attention of the party but nothing was done to that effect.

He added that even the committee set up by the party to attend to issues of irregularities during the primaries didn’t help matters.

When contacted on the issue, the state chairman of the party Arch Bala Sani Kangiwa said they saw it on social media, noting that he didn’t inform them.

He expressed pains over the decision of the federal lawmaker saying he should have exercised patience, lamenting that his party is not happy losing any member.
