I kill for N10,000, – 20 year old assailant confesses

Maryam Abiola, a 20 year old member of Eiye confraternity has confessed to been a serial assassin, killing four persons in the Ilasa area of Lagos.

The susspect who was arrested by the Lagos State Police Command revealed that she was paid N10,00 to cary out each asaassination.

Giving detailed insight into her sojourn, the suspect who was arrested alongside seven others said she joined the confraternity in December 2017 after she had absconded from her parent house in Abeokute, Ogun State.

Making confessional statement while been paraded at the Lagos State Police Commamd in Ikeja, Abiola said one Sodiq Oyewunmi led her into joining the fraternity and also thought her how to kill with a gun.

On her modus operandi, Abiola said she operated a three man gang comprisimg of one Wasiu and Segun who clears the way for her to operate.

She claimed all she needed to perform was just to do the spiritual fortification, the picture of her victim, the house address and a gun.

The Lagos Commissioner of Police CP Imohimi Edgal who pararded the suspects before journalist on Monday gave deatailed explanatuin of how the suspects were arested , ” On the July 13th, 2018, information was received from a credible source that two rival cult groups were fighting in Alafia Area of Mushin. Detectives from FSARS Ikeja swiftly mobilized to the scene where they arrested one Sodiq Oyewunmi ‘m’ and one Ihioma Emeka respectively, they were subsequently searched during which, two live cartridges and two locally made revolver pistols with 9mm ammunition was recovered.

” During investigation, the suspects Sodiq Oyewunmi confessed to be a member of secret cult group known as Eiye Confraternity. He further stated that during their cult activities, his brother named Waheed Oyewunmi was shot dead by the rival cult group called Aiye Confraternity led by the said Emeka Ihioma whom he alleged, pulled the trigger of the gun that killed his brother.

” Upon interrogation, Emeka Ihioma admitted to killing Waheed Oyewunmi during a revenge mission on Eiye members that allegedly killed one of their members by name Michael at Okomola area of Ilasan. Emeka Ihioma further stated that his group decided to kill Sodiq’s brother when all efforts to kill Sodiq failed.

” Also, investigation led to the arrest of one Adio Ogunremi of No 9 Godwin Omomus Street, Ilasan, a herbalist and one of the sponsors of Eiye Confraternity and one Abdulrasak Yusuf who is the amourer that keeps the guns and other dangerous weapons for the Aiye group.

” On Monday July 23rd, 2018, the DPO Ilasamaja Police Station arrested one Maryam Abiola Aged 20 years, a member of Eiye confraternity who is the arms keeper to her group members and confessed to have personally killed four(4) people. She further revealed that she is under oath administered to her by herbalist Adio Ogunremi. They all work for the blood thirsty cultist, Sodiq already in Police net. She also revealed that the box of arms was given to one wasiu who is now on the run.”

While fielding questions from journalists, Abiola said, ” when i came to lagos, i was leaving with Wasiu a friend to Sodiqe and a member of Eiye.it was Sodiqe who took me to their cult to initiate me and he also took me to their native dictor who gave me ssomething to eat and swear an oath.

” I am not related to Sodiqe. It was while i was looking for a job that i discovered what Sodique was doing as a friend to Wasiu are three that operate. We get our guns from Sodiqe and wear a white long cloth and white hijab. We enter into our victim’s house and then strike. After oir operation, we retuen the gun to Sodiqe who pays me N10,000 but the others are given N20,000.

” We usually scale the fence to gain access into the house of our victim. The other two climbs the fence and then they go to open the gate for me. I use gun to kill ans Sodique thought me how to use a gun. when i shot the person dies and I always feel bad. We dont rob. After our mission we just leave.I have killed two women and two men.

” However I was arrested during the crisis at Ilasan.”

Sodiqe on his part denied knowimg Abiola saying, ” I dont know what she is saying. We dont go to native doctor to do initiation. We dont use women to operate in our confraternity. We deal with our oponenet one on one.”

The other suspects arrested are Ihioma Emeka ‘m25years; Adio Ogunremi 40 years; Abdulrasak Yusuf 32 years; Ironka Junior 22years; Segun Ademola 35 years;
Anu Akinowo 21years; and Maryam Abiola ‘Age 20 years.

Exhibit recovered from the suspects includes Two live catradges, Two Locally made revolver Pistol, Nine pieces of 9mm live ammunitions.
