Nahco Aviance appoints ex Skye bank director new MD/CEO

The Nigerian aviation handling company plc has notified the capital market stakeholders on the appointment of its new substantive managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Idris Yakubu, former executive director Skye Bank Plc.

In a statement titled “notice of the appointment of new managing Director, Chief Executive Officer ” signed by Bello A .Abdulahi Dikko and Mahmoud , Solicitors to the company, released by the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), Nahco Aviance said that the appointment took effect from Sriday,3rd November 2017.

Daily Times Nigeria reveals that the new CEO Yakubu replaces Mrs. Folashade Ode, who stepped into the office of the CEO in an acting capacity, following the resignation of the former Managing Director/CEO of the company, Mr. Norbert Bielderman, on August 31st, 2017, after seven years of service, having joined Nahco Aviance May 2010.

Bielderman served in MD/CEO capacity for three years, as he was appointed CEO Nahco Aviance in October 2014.

Following his letter of resignation tendered in May 2017, the company’s board met and approved immediate appointment of Mrs. Folashade Ode as the new Acting MD/CEO of Nahco Energy, Power and Infrastructure (EPI).

The, the board also approved retirement of minority shareholders representative in the board, Dr Farouk Umar, and appointment of Sir Sunny Nwosu as his successor.

Idris Yakubu, on 3rd February 2017, with three other directors, Mrs. Markie Idowu, Mrs. Abimbola Izu and Mr. Bayo Sanni, resigned from the board of Skye Bank Plc.

The resigned Skye bank directors served in executive management capacity for nearly two years, and were part of the new board of the bank since the intervention of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the subsequent re-constitution of its board on July 4, 2016
