Police partner residents to chase One Million boys cult group

Residents in Lagos state have been urged to support the police in the fight against crime .

This advice was handed down to the residents in Ajangbadi community in Lagos during the quarterly Inspector General of Police Eminent Personality Forum organised by the Ilemba Hausa police Division Ajangbadi.

The quarterly event which took place at the New Planet Resort had stakeholders, community leaders and other sister security agencies in attendance.

The guest speaker at the event Barr. B Okoro stated that residents working with police in fighting crime have safer community.

Barr. Okoro advised the residents to play their role in providing useful information to the police.

He also harped on the need to provide security agencies with the tools and motivation for them to do their work.
Speaking at the event, the Divisional Police Officer of the Ilemba Hausa Police station CSP Musa Alim, stated that the police in his station have a good relationship with the community .

He said “When we came on board, there was the issue of one million boys a deadly cult group but with the collaborative efforts between the police and the community, we chased those bad boys away.

The synergy between the police and the community also helped in checking issues of domestic violence and other crime. The synergy is working because we have an open door policy where residents can walk into the station any time and make reports. We also have our telephone numbers pasted everywhere in the community for residents to reach us anytime”.

A community leader Mr. Sunday Nwobodo urged residents to play their parts in crime fighting. He said ” We thank the Inspector General of Police Mr. Idris Ibrahim for setting up the Eminent Personality Forum. The forum gave us the opportunity to play our parts in partnering with police to boos security in our community. We thank the DPO CSP Musa Alim for his open door policy.

We can air our views and also listen to the police. I have benefitted alot from the forum and I urge others to partner with the police as police cannot tackle crime alone”.

At the end of the event, the Lagos Watch group presented awards of excellence in security and safety was presented to CSP Alim and other policemen in the station.
