Over 3,000 Action Alliance members defect to APC in Kwara

Membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara on Friday, received a boost with the defection of over 3,000 members of Action Alliance (AA) across the 16 Local Government Areas of the state to APC.
The defectors, led by the state Secretary of the party (AA), Mr Afolayan Ibrahim, were received by one of the APC Governorship Aspirants in the state, Ambassador Abdul Fatai Yahaya-Seriki on behalf of the State Executive Committee.
The ceremony was held at the campaign office of one of the APC governorship aspirants in the state, Ambassador Abdul Fatai Yahaya-Seriki.
Speaking on behalf of the defectors, Ibrahim said that they decided to leave their former party to APC following laudable achievements recorded by President Muhammadu Buhari within the short period of his administration.
He expressed optimism that the President will embark on more meaningful programmes aimed at uplifting the standard of living of Nigerians.
The former state Secretary of AA pledged the cooperation and loyalty of the new members to the leadership of APC at all levels of government.
He added that the defectors were motivated by numerous empowerment initiative of Yahaya-Seriki.
Receiving the defectors on behalf of Bolarinwa, the aspirant, Yahaya-Seriki debunked the rumour that he is a stooge of the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki.
He solicited the support of Nigerians for the reelection bid of President Muhammad Buhari for second term to enable him sanitize the country of corruption and deliver more dividends of democracy to the people.
He assured the defectors of equal treatment and promised not to let them down.
The ceremony was attended by APC Ward Executives from the 16 council areas of the state.
