More employment opportunities for youths as A’ Ibom discovers fresh oil

The Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel has assured youths of more employment opportunities following the discovery of fresh oil well in Uruan council area of the state. Addressing party supporters during campaign for his re- election in next month general election, Governor Emmanuel confirmed that Akwa Ibom is the highest oil producing state in Nigeria which would be expanded for more revenue to the state with the recent oil discovery. Governor Emmanuel said that the state government was waiting for final documentations with relevant authorities to commence drilling of crude oil in the area. Governor Emmanuel maintained that the oil exploration in the area was one of government’s efforts to boost the economy and create employment for the people. “Uruan is at the verge of becoming one of the oil producing communities in the state. That’s why you see a new oil rig in the area, once we are done with signing of papers, we will commence exploration’. He said “We are playing politics of development. Campaigns should be issue based. I can assure the people of Uruan that everything ongoing in the area will be completed and commissioned before the end of the administration. The greenhouse in Uruan will be commissioned by our presidential candidate”. On the cattle range expected to soon take off in the area, for the production of milk and yoghurt, governor Emmanuel explained that though government has concluded preparations for the range, it was necessary for the 2000 cattle purchased to reproduce in their natural habitat before they are brought to the state. He reiterated his commitment to improve healthcare delivery, saying that such moved him to work to ensure massive turn around for the Ituk Mbang General Hospital which was in a serious state of decay. “Ituk mbang hospital was overgrown with weeds wothout maintenance and we came in and turn its fortunes around, equipped it with modern facilities. You were not given even a kilometer of road. The first ever range in rhe state is at Adadia. All those things are set up for the economy and job creation”. He said. He confirmed the prayers offered by the Paramount Ruler of the area that “The blood of innocent Akwa Ibomites killed politically will find their killers”. In his response, the political leader of the area, Obong Peter Ekpe Atakpo while addressing the rally, on behalf of the people appreciated Governor Udom Emmanuel for being the first to fulfil his promise to develop the area. He listed the projects established and facilitated by the governor in the area to include; Akwa Prime Hatchery, Anua-Mbak-Issiet road, Mbiaya Uruan road, Mbiatok Itam-Mbiaya Uruan road, Mbiaya-Ita-Ikpa-Mbiakong- Idu road, Ituk Mbang General Hospital, Adadia/Use Cattle Range, Housing Estate- Ibiaku Ishiet, Greenhouse Agric farm project- Airport road and facilitating the commencement of oil production by Moni Polo at Adadia. He listed other developmental project by the administration in the area to include; creation of new clan in Uruan, establishment of oil refinery at Ndon Ebom, Nduetomg Oku-Ibiaku Uruan-Utit Uruan-Ekid Itam road, Grading/opening of Uyo Itam-Ibiaku-Uruan to planet FM radio station and grading /opening of rural roads to link central uruan with southern uruan. “You have done so much for Uruan, you are our best since the creation of this state. No one has been this good to us. We had no road but you gave us roads. Before you were sworn in, you promised to fix the road leading to the palace of the paramount ruler of ibiono, as soon as you got it, you made that the first contract awarded. His words: “You have brought political liberation to Uruan; now we know the value of government. You helped Uruan to benefit from government.
