The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), has said that the 2021 Unified tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) Application Documents are not yet on sale.

To this end, the examination body caution parents and candidates to be be wary of fraudsters so as not to fall victims.

This advice is contained in a statement carried in the current edition of JAMB Bulletin, the weekly News publication of the public examination body.

The Board in the statement emphatically stated that the 2021 UTME/DE application form “is not yet on sale and neither has it announced any date for the sale nor delegated any persons or group to handle the sale on its behalf.”

It explained that the clarification became necessary following rumours in some quarters that the Board had commenced the sale and was urging prospective applicants desirous of tertiary education to procure same from some nebulous selling outlets.

“The public is to note that the news of the purported commencement of sale of registration forms is false and an attempt to mislead the public”, the board stated.

The statement reads:
“Similarly, the Board wishes to intimate the public that it has clearly defined channels of communication and as soon as it commences the process, the public will be duly informed via appropriate media platforms.

“The Board, therefore, wants to urge the general public not to be hoodwinked by these shady individuals who derive pleasure in causing confusion and extorting the public.

“The delay in the commencement of the sale of the application documents is occasioned by the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic and at the right time, the Board would communicate its programme of activities especially when all arrangements have been concluded.

“The Board urges members of the public to always cross-check with it through its various online platforms any piece of information so as not to succumb to the antics of fraudsters.”
