2019: Isiala Ngwa North adopts Sen. Orji for another term

The people of Isiala Ngwa, at the weekend, adopted the Senator representing Abia Central in the National Assembly, Senator Theodore Ahamefule Orji, for another term come 2019.
The occasion was at Amapu Ntigha Primary School, during the 4th Otawike Annual Convention, during which the governor, National Assembly members, commissioners, House of Assembly members, and other stakeholders in the LGA were in attendance.
Speaking during the occasion, those who spoke including the Chairman of the occasion, Engr. Enyinnaya Nwafor, the Chairman, Abia State Governing Board of Abia State University, Uturu, Chukwu Nwachukwu, the Guest Lecturer and state Commissioner for Works, Rt. Hon. Eziuche Ubani, member representing Isiala Ngwa North and South at the House of Representatives, Hon. Darlington Nwokocha, and the Senator representing Abia South at the National Assembly, Enyi Abaribe said Sen. Orji was so adopted for handing over to the Ukwa/Ngwa people the governorship mantle in line with the Abia Charter of Equity.
The Senator was also honoured by the Otawike group.
Speaking, Sen. Orji said he decided to hand over power to the Ukwa/Ngwa people to ensure enduring peace in the governance of the state, pointing out that peace is crucial to the development of any society, while urging the distracters of state governor, Okezie Ikpeazu to join hands with the governor to move the state forward.
Stating that Ikpeazu’s mandate was divine, Sen. Orji said “anybody planning anything against Ikpeazu, it will not work as he (Ikpeazu) has divine mandate and you cannot fight God.
“Abia people made Ikpeazu governor and his governorship position is divine. He is an equity governor.”
Describing the Isiala Ngwa North LGA chairman and founder of Otawike Youth Initiative, Ginger Onwusibe as having done well, the senator described Onwusibe as his son, thanking him as having tried in upgrading the Isiala Ngwa stadium as well as empowering over 220 youths of their area.
Sen. Orji used the occasion to advice people in power: “When you are in power, try to help others”, while urging other chairmen in the remaining 16 LGAs of the state to emulate their Isiala Ngwa North counterpart, Onwusibe, assuring the Chairman of his support.
Speaking during the event, the state Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu thanked Ginger Onwusibe and his wife, Ugochi for recognizing his cry about the school, pointing out that the prayers of the children is showing on them.
He thanked the Otawike group, Ginger Onwusibe and stakeholders in the area for bringing democracy dividend, stating, “Ginger has done well, as when the grader he bought grades the rural roads, the indigent women farmers in the area will be praying for him”.
“Ginger has done well and has done a good stadium”, he said and admonished other LGA chairmen to emulate Ginger for him (Governor) to come and commission viable projects in their respective LGAs.
He assured that the state government will buy off what the trained have produced to encourage them announcing the empowerment of 10 of the trained to the tune of N500,000.00 each.
Earlier in his welcome address, the founder of Otawike Youth Initiative and chairman, Isiala Ngwa North LGA, Ginger Onwusibe announced the graduation and empowerment of 220 youths in different skills, building and equipping of a 5-classroom block with Head Teacher’s quarters, as well as equipping the Amapu Ntigha Primary School pupils by the wife with school sandals, writing materials, uniforms and more.
