2 Persons Die In Car Crash As Gunmen Give Driver A Hot Chase In Benin

No fewer than 2 persons have reportedly died in a car accident involving a Grey Toyota Lexus SUV with registration number Eky 330 GP knocking down the victims who were later confirmed dead along the busy Ugbowo Benin-Lagos road on April 17th 2023 .

An eyewitness account claimed that the driver of the car later identified as Mr.Imoisili Friday Osayi lost control of his car knocking down 2 persons while on driving on a top speed to avoid his assailants who were on his chase when the tragic incident happened.

According to the eyewitness, the driver was being chased by some armed men in a black Mercedes-Benz car from Textile Mill road in Benin City, Edo State as they fired sporadic gunshots at the driver of the Lexus 350 on several occasions.

It was said that few minutes after the ghastly accident, a black Mercedes-Benz car made a brief stop few distance away from the scene of the accident close to a petrol filling station where 3 armed men stood and observed keenly as the accident victims were being rescued by sympathizers .

Another eyewitness said that the armed men immediately drove off when the driver of the car were rumoured to have died by some of the sympathizers.

The armed men, according to the eyewitness, were said to have immediately entered into their car and drove off.

Meanwhile Imoisili Friday Osayi was later rescued alive from the car wreckage as he was said to have been saved by his seat belt which prevented him from smashing his head on the windscreen while the 2 others were immediately rushed to an undisclosed hospital were they were confirmed dead on arrival by a medical personnel on duty.

The 2 other passengers were later identified as Ms.Felicia Idemudia and Michael Osayomore .

Further ivestigation revealed that Imoisili Friday Osayi until the tragic accident of April 17th 2023, had been involved in a long-running battle with members of a dreaded cult shortly after the demise of his father .

However efforts to locate Imoisili Friday Osayi after he narrowly survived the tragic accident of April 17th 2023 proved abortive as neighbours in his community claimed the driver had fled from the community in the wake of the spate of the deadly attacks on his life after the sudden death of his father who was until his death, the zonal coordinator and leader of the cult in the community.
