1, 023 benefit from Hannah May Foundation medical service in Abia

More than 1, 023 people have benefited from a two-day free medical service and distribution of eye glasses from the Hannah-May Foundation, which ended last Friday in Umuahia.

During the occasion that saw people from all over the state and beyond, medicated eye glasses, tests and drugs were given out freely, while people were also tested for Random Blood Sugar (RBS),  Retroviral tests (RVS/HIV/AIDS), malaria parasites (MP), High Blood Pressure (HBP) eye tests and much more.

Speaking on the occasion, the Board Chairman of Hannah-May Foundation, Augustine Kalu, said the foundation chose to do that to assist the down-trodden in the state who could not afford the money and yet carry their ailments around, stating that the services were not limited to Abians alone.

The beneficiaries thanked God for the treatment they received, with some referred to the Federal Medical Centre and Abia Specialist and Diagnostic Centre for further treatment.

Hannah-May Foundation is the pet project of Lady Mercy Odochi Orji, the wife of the Senator representing Abia Central in the Senate, Dr. Theodore Ahamefule Orji.

Lady Orji, who personally supervised the two-day programme, in her humility chose to do the programme silently as a mother that prefers action rather than words.
