Family of slain woman in Benue cries out

The son of a woman who was killed by unknown gunmen in neighbouring village of Agatu local government of Benue state has cried out on the inability of the security agencies to apprehend the assailants. The son, Mr Philip Ako who has been in hiding due to several threats to his life and that of his immediate family before the incident told newsmen that his mother was buried last week Saturday at his home town. Speaking to journalists in Minna, he stated that his mother was returning from the burial of her friend when she was shot by the men of the underworld. Consequently, the deceased who was killed in a cold blooded through assassination was said to have battled with the gun wound for three (3) days before she was pronounced dead by the doctors at Agatu local hospital of the state. It was further learnt that the house of the affected family has been razed by fire and deserted while the son of the deceased Mr Philip Ako has been hiding to save his life from the traitors who has severally threatened him without success. It was alleged that those who had been threatening the Mr Ako could be responsible for the killing because none of the criminals have been apprehended. Meanwhile, the family have appealed to the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) and other relevant authorities to ensure the culprits does not go Scott free by arresting the perpetuators for prosecution and to face justice.
