Zamfara health ministry commences supportive supervision in General Hospitals

The Zamfara State Ministry of Health has commenced an Integrated Supportive Supervision (ISS) exercise across all General Hospitals in the state’s 14 Local Government Areas.

A statement by Comrade Suleiman Isah, ANIPR the information/Public Relations Officer Ministry of Health confirmed that the exercise is being led by the Honourable Commissioner for Health, Dr. Nafisa Muhammad Maradun, alongside Directors of the Ministry and Heads of its parastatals.

The supervision team began the exercise with visits to Dansadau General Hospital in Maru Local Government Area and Magami General Hospital in Gusau Local Government Area.

The Integrated Supportive Supervision is aimed at monitoring and evaluating the condition of health facilities, assessing service delivery, staff performance, and the overall functionality of General Hospitals across the state.

Speaking during the supervision visit, Dr. Maradun stated that the exercise would cover all General Hospitals and health facilities across the 14 LGAs to ensure quality healthcare delivery for the people of Zamfara State.

“We are going to supervise all health facilities to monitor and evaluate their condition and ensure that services are delivered effectively,” the Commissioner said.

During the visit to Dansadau General Hospital, Dr. Maradun commended the Medical Director, Dr. Mansur Mohammed Mansur, as well as nurses and other medical personnel, for their commitment and presence at their duty posts.

She also warned that the Zamfara State Government will not tolerate absenteeism or negligence of duty in any health facility, emphasizing that accountability and dedication are critical to strengthening the state’s healthcare system.

The Integrated Supportive Supervision exercise is expected to improve standards, promote efficiency, and enhance service delivery across public health facilities in Zamfara State.
