Zamfara education ministry frowns against establishment of unregistered high institution

The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has observed with concern the indiscriminate establishment and operation of unregistered private higher institutions across the state.

In a statement signed by the Director of Higher Education in the Ministry, the attention of proprietors of such institutions has been drawn to the grave implications of their actions on the education sector.

The statement noted that many of these institutions do not meet the minimum required standards, particularly in terms of qualified manpower and adequate infrastructure, thereby doing greater harm to the quality and integrity of education in the state.

In a statement signed by Bashir Abashiya, Public Relations officer, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, JB Yakubu Secretariat, the Ministry emphasized that the establishment and operation of any private higher institution without due registration and accreditation is a violation of existing regulations and will not be tolerated.

In view of the above, the management of all unregistered private higher institutions is hereby directed to present themselves at the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, JB Yakubu Secretariat, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., from Monday to Thursday, for documentation, validation, and further necessary action.

The Ministry reassures the general public of its commitment to ensuring standardization, quality assurance, and effective service delivery in the education sector, and calls on all stakeholders to cooperate in achieving these objectives.
