YDP urges FG to adhere strictly to rule or law
The Young Democratic Party (YDP) has urged the Federal Government to adhere strictly to the rule of law in the ongoing criminal investigation of some judges in the interest of Nigeria’s democracy.
The National Chairman of the party, Hon. Emmanuel Bisho Amakiri gave the advice yesterday in Abuja at the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the party.
The party also inaugurated a seven-man Disciplinary Committee as part of preparation for its National Convention coming up in January 2017.
“The Constitution is there and binding on all of us. The government has justified its action. Therefore,we urge them to strictly adhere to the laws of the land in the interest of our democracy,” Amakiri said.
He also urged the youths to see the party as an opportunity to shelve their apathy to party politics due to their loss of confidence in the mainstream parties, adding that their aspiration can now be realized by their membership of the party and to utilize it as a platform to turn around the fortune of the country for good.
The party also inaugurated a seven-man disciplinary committee headed by the party’s National Legal Adviser Barrister Lagi Innocent with Elizabeth Abbah, Captain Dabas Suleiman (rtd), Charles Olufemi Afolayan, Barrister Ugo Nwofor, Princess Victoria Ibokette and Hajiya Binta Suleiman as members.
