YDP expels national leader, 7 others over anti-party
The Young Democratic Party (YDP) has expelled its National Leader, Henry Nwabueze and seven other National officers over what it described as ‘anti-party activities.’
The party in a communiqué issued Wednesday after its National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held in Abuja and signed by its National Chairman, Comrade Bishop Emmanuel Amakiri, stated that Henry Nwabueze, Huldah Lynns Ihetuge Deputy National Welfare Officer, Isaac Samiya Nwachukwu the Vice National Coordinator South, Barr Maxwell Aneto, Deputy National Legal Adviser, Chinaka Moses Ezenwa the Vice National Organising Secretary South, Evelyn Okere and Collins Okelu have been expelled.
The Chairman said “We have continue to remain resolute in our party and we will not entertain anti-party activities.The party has achieved a very good mile stone because the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was present when we made the decision following a motion raised by Tosan Harryman Blessing which was seconded by Usman Haruna.”
YDP said it regretted that the expelled members, could decide to act contrary to the constitution of the party that appointed them into office and called on other members to desist from anti-party activities.
The communiqué advised its members to stick to the code of conduct signed with INEC and shun negative acts in the forthcoming Ondo state governorship election.
The communiqué also said that with the return of peace among key stakeholders, YDP is prepared for the future challenges of leadership in the country.
