WPG: Victorious Team Nigeria Police returns

The victorious Team Nigeria Police to the just concluded World Police Games (WPG) in the United States of America where they won 5gold, 4silver and 2bronze medals are back in the country aboard Lufthansa Airline that touched down at the Muritala Mohammed International Airport at 4.30pm Nigeria time on Monday.
Nigeria Police Force Director of Sports DCP Aliyu Abubakar who told Extra Time that Sergeant Noa Nehikhare who competed in boxing, Corporal Martins Ogierikhi who took part in men’s 110m hurdles in athletics event, Yeiyah Yellow (swimming) and Goodness Thomas who ran in both women’s 100m dash and 200m event gold medal in each of the events to make it two, accounted for the 5gold medals. The silver medals were won by Inspector Martins Ogierikhi (men 400m), Inspector Abraham Onyemelusi (wrestling) and Inspector Oluwatoyin Oladeji who fought in boxing. Inspector Ralph Ubah and Sergeant Selubo Ekundayo were responsible for the two bronze medals.
Chairman of the Nigeria Police Sports AIG Sanni Mohammed who is also the leader of delegation said he is indeed excited and overwhelmed by the performance of the team considering the fact that this is the first time the Team Nigeria Police would be competing at such a high global championship.
DCP Aliyu Abubakar thanks the Inspector General of Police Ibrahim Idris, for permitting them to go for the championship where they made Nigeria Proud.
