A Non Governmental Organisation (NGO, ‘Rahama Endowment Foundation’ (RED) yesterday donated 2, 000 seedlings of different species of trees for planting to Inkil village in the State capital.
The tree planting project according to the NGO is part of measures taken to forestall future recurrence of windstorm that recently wreaked havoc in Bauchi State and other environmental hazards.
Speaking while flagging off the trees planting, the Executive Director of the foundation Ibrahim Adamu explained that the gesture was aimed at bringing succour to the people of the village which was one of the areas worst affected by the recent windstorm.
He said the NGO was established in 2015 with the objective of safeguarding the environment from natural disasters.
