We will contain farmers/herdsmen hostilities – Military

The Nigerian Armed Forces has stated iits resolve to put a stop to the
hostilities that exists between herdsmen and farmers around the
country.
This was made public in an interaction Brig.Gen. Rabe Abubakar, the acting Director Defence Information, had with reporters last weekend.
The security chief asserted that the war between the herdsmen and
farmers is quite embarrassing an uncalled for and as such to add
address it the security agencies have synergised with the formation
of operation accord,which is meant to address the problem.
Brig. Gen. Abubakar solicited the support of the media in the fight
against criminalities. He said that the military would not go out of
its way to abuse the rights of individuals.
“The rule of engagement does not permit the military to molest or
harass anyone unjustly. We are the custodians of human rights.”
On Boko Haram, he disclosed that the military is putting machineries
in place to capture all fleeing members of the sect to curb them from
spreading to other parts of the country.
He called on members of the public to go about their legal duties
without fear of intimidation as the military has stationed its men in
strategic places to curtail the activities of miscreants.
