Wike’s faction NWC suspends 14 state executives, disclaims Turaki
The National Working Committee (NWC) of the faction of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP on Thursday suspended the working committee of the party in 14 states.
This was disclosed in a communique issued at the end of the NWC meeting held in Abuja.
The acting National Publicity Secretary of the faction, Haruna Mohammed Jungun who read the communique said the suspension of 14 state executives was party of resolution made following an extensive deliberation and review of events surrounding the party.
States executive dissolved state are: Borno, Bauchi, Oyo, Zamfara, Yobi, Ekiti, Bayelsa, Enugu, Ebonyi, Anambra, Delta, Taraba, Kano, and Lagos.
The National Caretaker Committee them confirmed the caretaker committees in those states.
The NWC then approved the calendar for the conduct of state congresses starting from January 9th, 2026, after which the national convention follows.
He said no tentative date has been fixed for the national convention “That can only come after a conclusion of the state congresses we just mentioned,.
“When are the state congresses going to convene? We will release the timetable very soon.
The factional National Caretaker Committee further assigned portfolios to some of its members for effective discharge of the duties conferred on them.
“The people are Professor Adenike Ogunse, Women Leader, Engineer Deji Dohati, Deputy National Secretary, Senator Olaka Ogunwu, Treasurer, Honorable Jungu Haruna Mohammed, Publicity, Ambassador Dr. Ibrahim Bala-Aboki to function as the youth leader,” he said.
According to the faction, the PDP remains strong and indivisible.
He said “there is only one genuine and legitimate PDP, headed by Honorable Abdulrahman Mohammed.
“The National Caretaker Committee therefore warned anybody putting the image of the party to disrepute, should refrain from that forth with.
” It is important to let the public know that the claims making round in the media that the Turaki illegal Excos have been accepted by INEC are false. We therefore challenged Turaki to produce the code with which he uploaded his Exco to INEC portal.”
