Wike commends DSS, Army for killing Don Waney’s younger brother

Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike of Rivers state, has commended the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Nigerian Army for the joint operation that led to the killing of Oluchi Igwedibia, alias Obatosu, younger brother of Late Don Waney.
Don Waney whose real name was Johnson Igwedibia had, earlier this month, been killed in his new hide out in Enugu, Enugu State, also in a joint military operation.
The two brothers were fingered by security agents as masterminds of the killing of over 20 people who were coming back from a cross over service in Omoku on 2018 New Year Day.
The younger brother of Late Don Waney who was among the 32 cultists declared wanted by the State Security Council was killed at Sabo Iyakpe, Etsako West in Edo State on Sunday, January 28, 2018, following accurate DSS intelligence who had been on his trail.
The Late Oluchi Igwedibia is strongly believed to have played a prominent role in the New Year killings by Don Waney’s gang in Omoku.
Governor Wike declared that none of those declared wanted by the Rivers State Security Council would go free, saying that they would all be brought to justice.
The governor further declared that the N20million bounty placed for credible information that would lead to the arrest of the wanted cultists was still in place.
He stated that all those who participated in the New Year Mayhem at Omoku and any other security infraction in the state would be traced and brought to justice.
Governor Wike stated that the State Government would continue to work with security agencies and other stakeholders to ensure that Rivers State remained safe.
