Widow demands justice over alleged shooting of son in Warri

A widow whose son was allegedly shot by a vigilante security guard in Warri, Mrs. Patience Emenuvwe, has demanded for justice in the matter.
Emenuvwe who narrated the ordeal in tears to newsmen on Wednesday in Warri said her son, Jerry was relaxing at Flourish Plaza in Bazunu when the vigilante on guard allegedly shot him.
The widow who named the suspect simply as Moses said the incident happened on Dec. 17, 2016.
According to her, Jerry was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention and was later referred to another hospital.
Emenuvwe said that her son currently suffers from internal bleeding and requires N1.6 million for operation.
“I deposited N150,000 before the doctor commenced treatment on my son.
“The vigilante deliberately shot my son with a mindset of killing him because doctor’s report indicates he now has internal bleeding.
“The vigilante only dropped N40,000 as part of the treatment and abandoned my son since the day of the incident.
“I want the Inspector General of Police, and other relevant government agencies to investigate and do justice to the matter,” she said.
When contacted, the Delta Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Andrew Aniamaka told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that he was not aware of the incident.
