We’ve no comment on Akeredolu’s govt, says Ondo PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State has said that it would maintain its silence rather than criticising the government of the All Progressives Congress (APC) led by Governor.
The party said the electorates who wanted a new government by voting in Mr. Akeredolu should be the judge to critic the current administration of the APC.
Mr. Clement Faboyede, state chairman of the opposition party stated this in Akure while inaugurating the Elders Caucus Committee.
Mr. Faboyede said that the party will not comments as it was not ready to join issues with the current administration of Mr. Akeredolu which had only spent nine months in office.
He said the people of the state are now facing the acclaimed change they voted for and should stop grumbling about the APC government in the state.
“No comment for now as its regards the performance of government (APC) in the power in Ondo State.
“The people of Ondo State voted the way they voted, so it is left for them to judge the government on the seat.
“As opposition, we have our own tracks, landmarks and also achievements. Let the people now compare and contrast.
“So, it is left for the good people of Ondo State to decide for themselves and when it’s time for us to talk at the show box, we shall talk,” Mr. Faboyede added.
Mr. Faboyede noted that the opposition party was already preparing to take back power in the country in 2019 with some new strategy being deployed to take over.
According to him, the PDP in the state is waxing stronger and would bounce back to form a formidable opposition hence the formation of the elders caucus.
He stated that those on the committee of the Elders Caucus are to reposition and strengthen the fold of the party with regards to the party’s constitution.
The PDP chairman explained that those on the list include some former political appointees under in the past government of the PDP in the state.
“They will be the conscience of the party as we will rely on their advice and to also give directions on the way forward.
“They are going to hold the ace in terms of followers in our party and they should also know that this party (PDP) must not and shall not die,” he said.
Mr. Faboyede further disclosed that the party will also inaugurates its expanded caucus which will be the “prime mover” of the party ahead of its convention that is billed for this year December.
He also emphasised that the PDP is now in unity mostly in Ondo State and asked its members to start preparing for the delegates congresses starting from the ward to the local government levels.
