Western education saved me from herdsmen, farmers clash –Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari, has said that if not for the western education he acquired and his military career that gave him a viable means of livelihood, ‘‘I might have been caught in herdsmen and farmers clash’’.

President Buhari, who spoke in Hausa language while addressing a mammoth crowd in Bauchi, capital of Bauchi State, during his official visit on Thursday, also urged youths in the state to utilise any opportunity they have to be educated.

In this vein, he pointed out that with good education they can become better citizens.

Besides, the President, used the occasion to reiterate his declaration to run for second term in office, saying his administration will not relent in its determination ‘‘to sure that anybody who abuse public office for selfish gains face the full wrath of the law’’, because such position is held in trust for the Nigerian people.

Buhari, added that ‘‘I do not hold grudges against anybody’’, pointing out that his ‘‘resolve to make Nigeria a better place is as strong as ever’’.

He then urged people in the state to be politically active with a view to contributing their quota towards electing credible leaders in 2019 and beyound.
