We’ll make farming attractive for our youths –Tor Tiv
The paramount ruler of Tiv nation, Tor Tiv, Professor James Ayatse, has said necessary steps are currently being taken to curb rural-urban migration by making farming attractive to youths in his domain.
Ayatse said yesterday at a press conference in Makurdi to herald his visit to South Africa for the purpose of bringing investors in key agricultural sectors, that farming activities would soon blossom in his kingdom.
“We will make farming attractive to the youths by setting up structures that will ensure accurate pricing. We will take necessary step to add value on the crops we produce so that our youths can be motivated to return to the agriculture sector,” he said.
The royal father was invited as an exclusive VIP guest speaker at the African Agri-Investment Summit 2017 holding in Cape Town in South Africa between Monday and Wednesday next week.
