Wapic: Turnover lifts week’s volume by 657.30m shares

For the week ended 24th November 2017, Wapic Insurance emerged the most traded insurance stock, pulling a total of 657,285,297, million shares, reflecting about 97 per cent of the total turnover by the sector for the week.

the company’s turnover, which reflected earning opportunities, boosted the Nigerian

Stock Exchange’s (NSE’s) volume for the week, as trading in the top three equities, Wapic Insurance, Zenith International Bank and United Bank for Africa measured by volume accounted for 973.088 million shares worth N5.854bn in 2,493 deals, contributing 44.59 per cent and 25.68 per cent to the total equity turnover volume and value respectively.
