Vision Africa has planted more than 130 churches, given free medical services to Nigerians – President

Non- Governmental Organization, Vision Africa and its affiliate Nigerian Inter-Faith Action Association (NIFAA),has said more than 700,000 Nigerians have received free medical services from it while more than 130 churches has been planted in Nigeria.

Speaking at the Michael Okpara auditorium, Umuahia Abia State, during the Vision Africa 20th anniversary and impact converge 2017, the President Vision Africa and Executive Director of Nigerian Inter-Faith Action Association (NIFAA), Bishop Sunday Ndukwo Onuoha, reeled out other impact of Vision Africa to include founding of an independent radio station- Vision Africa radio, visit to prisons and orphanage, peace and reconciliation; Church planting, and impactingknowledge/growing another generation through countless conferences, conventions, seminars, workshops and skill acquisition for youth, and free medical care to more than 700,000 Nigerians.

He said Vision Africa’s carefully structured process for planting churches, has reaped tremendous results, adding, “As at today, Vision Africa has planted 130 churches. This week we planted three new churches. The churches were opened with a revival and free medical care.

“Over half a million dollars in donated medicines have been distributed during our medical outreach. Just this week, about eight hundred people received our free medical treatment at Ikwuano L.G.A, of Abia State”, he added.

Bishop Onuoha thanked the administration of Chief Olusegun Obasanjo for granting Vision Africa radio licence and Abia State government for creating the enabling environment for Vision Africa, particularly when they were setting up the radio station.

In his speech, the Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, commended Bishop Onuoha for giving back to the society stating, “for Vision Africa to take care of 700, 000 people means that he (Bishop Onuoha) has succeeded in saving lives worth 700,000, who would have been dead by now”.

The Imo governor represented by his Chief of Staff, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu said he does not joke with any mission that involves show of charity and commended the President Vision Africa and Executive Director of Nigerian Inter-Faith Action Association (NIFAA), Bishop Sunday Ndukwo Onuoha, for sharing the same vision with Rochas foundation.

He said the worst thing one would practice in life is primitive accumulation of wealth, pointing out that the best thing that would happen to a man is giving out/ impacting positively to the society.

In order to further encourage Vision Africa in its humanitarian services, Gov. Okorocha donated a brand new bus to the organization.

Speaking also, the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, represented by the Deputy Speaker of Abia House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Cosmos Ndukwe, reiterated his administration’s willingness to accommodate more investors in the State as it has succeeded in maintaining an enabling/friendly environment.

Speaking respectively, the father of the day, His Eminence Dr. Sunday Mbang, spiritual father of the day and Prelate Methodist ChurchNigeria, His Eminence Dr. Sunday Uche, described Bishop Onuoha as a great man who will go places and appealed to the US partners to keep on supporting the Vision Africa.

In his opening remarks, the Chairman of the occasion, Prof. Joe Irukwu, said Vision Africa has touched many lives in this part of the country and thanked Bishop Onuoha for the inspiration and the dreams he had which came through the conceptualization and realization of Vision Africa.

Prof. Irukwu who said Bishop Onuoha has shown that character and hard work pays a great deal, pointed out that he has created an enabling environment which helps the youth to attain their desired goal in life, and commended the Vision Africa United States partners for their assistance to the Vision Africa.

The US partners Martha Stott, Prof. Chulk Pollack, Presenter KCBI USA, Sharon Geiger, Executive Director Vision Africa, Doffy Johnson, Engr. Paul Hunter and Tom Leiser, as well as other dignitaries from various states of the federation, graced the occasion.
