Uwajeh seeks out of court settlement with Sen. Uba over allegations

Indication emerged yesterday that a self acclaimed private investigator from united kingdom Chief Victor Uwajeh has initiated some move for out of court settlement with Senator Andy UBA over pending matters in court.

The Daily Times gathered that embattled Uwajeh is making frantic efforts to reach out to his former friend and benefactor for out of court settlement believing that will dissuade the office of the Attorney General of Federation (AGF) to drop criminal charge against him.

The Federal High Court Abuja presided by Justice John Tsoho on Tuesday shifted Uwajeh arraignment to 5 March 2018 after the prosecution counsel from ministry of justice, A K Alilu complained that the defendant have not being personally served with the criminal summons.

The federal government filed a four count charge against Chief Victor Uwajeh after the police investigation discovered he allegedly forged documents against a serving senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District, Senator Andy UBA with intent to commit fraud.

At the last adjourned date, the trial judge had ordered that the defendant who claimed to be a private investigator Chief. Victor Uwajeh should be served to appear before the court on the 13 February, 2018 to take his plea.

But the defendant absent in Court on adjourned date, Tuesday 13, February, 2018 stalled his arraignment.

It should be recalled that Chief Uwajeh had last year dragged Senator Andy Uba, before an FCT High Court over alleged refusal to pay the sum of £1.9 million debt.

Following police thorough investigations based on the petition written by Senator Uba to the Inspector General of Police, IGP, Ibrahim Idris, the police investigations indicted him (Uwajeh).

In the suit, the plaintiff accused Senator Uba of being an impostor in relation to his academic credentials which the police investigation also revealed to be untrue as the plaintiff was said to have obtained the information fraudulently.

According to Uwajeh, in the suit, Senator Uba engaged his services for an assignment in United Kingdom Border Agency and in the United States of America.

The plaintiff said in order to make the work easier for him, Senator Uba gave him the data pages of both his American passport and Nigerian passport.

At the last proceedings before the federal government filed charges before a federal High court Abuja, presiding judge, Justice Sylvester Origi,said that the matter could not proceed as the plaintiff lawyer asked the court to adjourned the matter to enable all the parties settled out of court .

The judge further adjourned the suit on the instance of the plaintiff (Uwajeh) for the outcome of the out of court settlement and report back to the court .
