Utagba-Ogbe, Umusadege-Umusam communal clashes deepen, 2 feared killed

Emerging threats to security of lives and property, especially the deepened communal clashes between Utagba-Ogbe, Umusadege-Umusam Quarters in Kwale, Ndokwa West Local Government Area of Delta State, on Thursday assumed a frightening dimension when two person were feared killed.

While the Joint Military Taskforce (JTF) has reportedly destroyed two criminal hideouts in Kwale, it was reliably gathered that the communal crisis rocking the community, was informed by ownership tussle of a stretch of land which spans form Eke Market Square to River Ase Creek and collection of development levy on the said land.

But the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Kwale, Mr. Emma Ogbuanya, who confirmed the JTF move on criminal hideouts, reminded the warring residents of the danger and consequences posed with the continuing zest by the youths of both quarters for a violent confrontation, and the need to nip the situation in the bud.

He said: “I want to warn the youths to refrain from the use of weapons, intimidation and molestation of law-abiding persons. We (JTF) are patrolling every nooks, crannies and highways to get rid of criminal sources. He said the two allegedly federal killed persons were fell by stray bullets after a heated argument between youths of the warring quarters in the community a situation the resisted to shooting.
