Uproar as 29-year-old man defiles 3 minors

A 29-year-old man, Yau Ibrahim, was on Friday brought before an FCT High Court, Apo, for unlawfully having carnal knowledge of three teenage girls under false pretences.
He was, however, released on a bail of N5 million.
Ibrahim, who lives opposite the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, Durumi Area 1, Abuja, is being prosecuted by the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP).
Police Prosecutor, Aonduna Orti, told the court that the defendant had unlawful carnal knowledge of the three girls by inducing with them with N1000 each on July 2018.
He gave the ages of the victims as 14 and 15 years old.
According to the prosecuting lawyer, the offence is contrary to Sections 1(1) and (2) of the Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Act 2015.
The accused, however, admitted having carnal knowledge of two of the three girls while his lawyer, Mr John Aladi, urged the court to grant him bail.
In his ruling, Justice Silvanus Oriji granted the defendant bail in the sum of N5million with two sureties in like sum.
The judge added that one of the sureties must be a civil servant resident within the court’s jurisdiction.
He also announced that the Chief Judge will re-assign the case to another judge after the vacation for further hearing.
