Unknown Gunmen Attack Ravages Imo State

A popular businessman, Mr. Kingsley Onyekachi Edwin popularly known as Edwin Kachi was assassinated in late evening at the popular Rapour Junction in Owerri, Imo State. He was shot by a suspected gang of unknown gunmen.

It was gathered that the level of insecurity in the country remains unclear, as residents of Owerri and other states continue to live in fear while this deadly gang persists in committing crimes.

An eyewitness, who chose to remain anonymous for security reasons, told our media correspondent that the gruesome attack on Kingsley Onyekachi sent shockwaves through the country. The incident occurred in the evening , around 5:30 PM on July 18, 2024, while he had his car parked at a car wash. The assailants shot him multiple times, leaving him lifeless on the ground before fleeing the scene.

Friends at the scene rushed him to the Federal Medical Centre, Owerri, Imo State, doctors tried their best as he was still breathing at the time of the attack.

The Imo State Government has assured residents that they can return to their normal businesses, promising that the authorities will not relent until the perpetrators are brought to justice.
