United Nigeria Airlines signs purchase deal with Southwest Airlines for six Boeing Aircraft
United Nigeria Airlines (UNA) has signed a purchase agreement with Southwest Airlines for six Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
The signing took place on September 3 at Southwest’s headquarters in Dallas, Texas.
The agreement confirms Southwest’s commitment to deliver the aircraft to UNA in line with the terms of the purchase contract.
At the signing were senior representatives of the three companies, including Osita Okonkwo, executive director and chief operating officer of UNA; Ying Liang, business director, sales and marketing, Africa, Boeing Commercial Airplanes; Obiora Okonkwo, chairman of UNA; and Reid Grandle, who signed on behalf of Southwest Airlines.
The aircraft are expected to strengthen UNA’s narrow-body fleet and support its plans to expand capacity and improve reliability across its network.
Boeing’s Africa sales leadership also witnessed the event, underscoring the company’s role in the transaction ahead of delivery and entry into service.
