The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof.Sulyman Age AbdulKareem, has commiserated with the Kwara State governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and the people of the State on the death of the Chief of Staff,Government House,Ilorin,Engr.Aminu Adisa Logun which occurred on Tuesday ,July 7,2020.
Abdulkareem in a statement signed by the institution’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Kunle Akogun in Ilorin, said that the death of the foremost public servant and eminent industrialist was most unexpected and shocking to him and the entire members of the University community.

The Vice Chancellor described Logun as a meticulous public officer, a dedicated professional and a special breed of technocrat who recorded remarkable accomplishments in various spheres of his career spanning many decades.
He noted that Logun was not only a distinguished professional colleague of his but also an abiding friend of the “better by far University”.
While noting that the death of the elder statesman at this point-in-time was most unexpected, he explained that Kwara State has lost a great citizen, a true public servant, a fascinating patriot and a firm believer in its destined greatness.
The Vice-Chancellor recalled his several interactions with the deceased, most especially since the formation of the present Kwara State Government ,which, he said, were targeted at building and sustaining synergy between the University of Ilorin and the government of the State.
‘’Engr.Logun was a man who gave his all to the services of the people of the State,even as a Septunagerian,’’ he said.
AbdulKareem condoled with His Royal Highness, the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman,Kwara State Council of Emirs and Obas, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR,and the people of Ilorin Emirate over the loss of one of their most distinguished sons.
The Vice-Chancellor also sympathised with the family members, friends and colleagues of the deceased, most especially the leadership and members of the Nigerian Society of Engineers on the death of the foremost Engineer,adding that his absence would be felt by all.
AbdulKareem prayed Allah to forgive Logun’s shortcomings and grant his gentle soul eternal felicity as he also prayed the Almighty Creator to grant the Kwara State Government,his wife and children as well as other family members the fortitude to bear the loss.
