Unical is dwindling, ex-bursar alleges

The former Bursar of the University of Calabar, Mr. Peter Agi. has said that the university he left few months ago was dwindling and has gone down so rapidly that if urgent steps are not taken, the academic system would be seriously affected.

“Unical had gone down, Unical is dwindling, growth vision of the school that supposed to be realized is not there,” Mr. Agi said in an interview with the Daily Times yesterday.

He lamented that the termination of his appointment was unjustly, moreso when he did not commit any crime that warranted such action. He said while in the institution, he fought corruption to a standstill and that the action resulted in the questioning of some principal staff by EFCC.

The former bursar said his altercation with former Vice Chancellor, Prof James Epoke, was the issue of alleged diversion of school fees into private account which he was against, an issue he said got to EFCC.

“I am not fighting the system, I am fighting the injustice meted on me. Whatever name they are have given me, is a campaign of calumny and blackmail. I am in court and God will deliver me,” he further stated.
