UNIBEN inaugurates completed projects

Authorities of University of Benin (UNIBEN) have inaugurated the first phase of completed projects at newly developed ‘site B’ segment, Ugbowo Campus of the institution.
Emir of Kano and Chancellor of the university, HRH, Muhammad Sanusi II, performed the inauguration of the projects at Ugbowo Campus of the ivory tower during the recently held 43rd Convocation of the university.
A statement that emanated from the Public Relations officer of the university, Mr. Michael Osasuyi, listed the projects at ‘site B’ to include football pitch at the sports Complex, Golf course, Veterinary offices for staff, veterinary laboratory, Botanic garden which will boost research and Scientific studies on animals welfare.
Osasuyi, in the statement which was made available to journalists in Benin City, said the feat “is in line with the 5-year development plan of the university under the leadership of its Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Faraday Orumwense, towards expanding the frontiers of teaching”.
The projects were funded by Federal Government Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) and NEEDS assessment, Internally Generated Revenue from UNIBEN and UNIBEN Alumni association.
Also inaugurated by the Chancellor at the main campus were a female hostel block, Centre of Excellence in Reproductive Health and Innovation (CERHI), library and lecture theatre halls for Faculty of Education, ultra-modern studio for Faculty of Environmental Science and the UNIBEN Micro finance.
