Prof. Charles Anosike, the Director General and Chief Executive Officer of Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has been honoured with a sustainability award by the Sustainable Development (SDC) of the University of Abuja.
At a banquet and award ceremony held in honour of the immediate past Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Abdulrasheed Na’Allah, Prof. Anosike received an ‘Award of Excellence in Sustainable Climate Policy’.

The event which was chaired by Senator Gbenga Daniel, Senator representing Ogun East and former Governor of Ogun state also had in attendance members of the political class, the academia, captains of industry and the acting Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Aisha Maikudi.
Prof. Anosike, who was represented by his Special Adviser on General Duties, Dr. Uche Nworah, thanked the organisers for the honour and said that the management and staff of NiMet are committed to achieving the mandate of the agency which is observing, analyzing, timely and accurate reporting of weather and climate information for socio-economic development and safety of lives and property.
