UNAA Owerri celebrates UNN founder’s day

The University of Nigeria Alumni Association (UNAA) Owerri branch, on Sunday, celebrated University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) founders’ day at Chief Iwuanyanwu Glass House, Orji road, in Owerri, Imo state.
The event which started October 3, at Princess Alexandra Auditorium UNN campus with a lecture given by the governor of Enugu state, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, on the topic: “A New Paradigm in Sustainable Partnership”, was to celebrate the 58th anniversary of UNN, marked yearly both at the national and state levels.
Highlights of the occasion in Owerri were cutting of UNN coloured cake, lecture by Dr. Mrs. Doris Okoro, recognition of the number one member Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu (MFR, OON, CFR), singing of UNN anthem, etc.
In his remarks, the president of UNAA Owerri branch, Rotn. Dr. Chinedu Ajoku said the branch will continue to support and be part of all the activities of UNAA national body to ensure that UNN maintains her motto: To restore the dignity of man.
Some dignitaries at the event include, Dr. Mrs. Pat. Ekennia, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Arts and Culture, Imo State, Dr. V.C Alabeke, Senior Lecturer, Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education, Dr. Mrs. Ford Ozumba, DAGS Oru East Local Government Area, and a host of others.
