Ugbo makes pro debut for Barnsley
Chelsea striker of Nigerian descent Ike Ugbo has played his first senior game as a professional footballer, but not for the Premier League champions.
The England youth international hopped off the bench at the start of the second half in Barnsley’s 3-1 win over Coventry City in a pre-season friendly staged at Oakwell on Tuesday night.
The Reds secured the win thanks to goals from Stevie Mallan, Stefan Payne and Tom Bradshaw. The 18-year-old Ike Ugbo has been loaned out to Barnsley for the entirety of the 2017-2018 season.
