Udom to inaugurate post- COVID-19 economic recovery c’ttee

Akwa Ibom state Governor Udom Emmanuel has schedule May 1, for the inauguration of post -COVID-19 economic reconstruction committee in the state.

In a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Emmanuel Ekuwem in Uyo on Wednesday, he said the state governor has directed that the committee be constituted to handle all economic challenges generated by the pandemic in the state
“The current economic challenges occasioned by COVID-19 has thrown an inexorable necessity on us as a people and Akwa Ibom state has risen to these challenges,” the statement stated.
According to the statement, a former director general of the West African Institute for Financial and Economic Management, and former Vice Chancellor of the University of Uyo, Prof. Akpan Ekpo, has been appointed to head the committee.
The head of the department of Economics, University of Uyo, Prof. Emmanuel Onwioduokit is to serve as secretary.

Others members of the committee include, Lady Mary Uduk, Prince Bassey Inwang, Pastor Samuel Archibong and Mr. Lordswill Umani.
Also on the committee are Sir Effiong Afiakurue, Obong Nseyen Ebong, Mr. Udom Inoyo, Sir Inyang Inyang, Prof. Vincent Anigbogu, Dr. Leo Stan Ekeh, Mr. Hilary Akpan and Ime Uwah.
Similarly, Pastor Umo Eno, Dr. Glory Edet, Mr. Ephraim Inyang-Eyen, Mr. Akan Okon, Mr. Linus Nkan and Prince Ukpong Akpabio are equally members of the committee.
